Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Chili is one of my favourite dishes as it can easily be made into a healthy meal, depending what you add to it. This was the first time I used my Slow Cooker and it turned out great! Feel free to play around with the spices to make it spicier or make it have less of a kick. Enjoy 🙂

CHILI FBD STYLE:

chili

INGREDIENTS:
1 lbs ground turkey
1- 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1- 5.5oz can tomato paste
1- 19 oz can black beans
1- 19 oz can kidney beans
Dash of liquid smoke  (add as much as you desire)
1/2 cup of water
1/2 large red, yellow and orange pepper chopped
2 celery stalk chopped
1/2 medium onion chopped
2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp chipotle chili pepper
1 tbsp green chillies
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp pepper
Dash salt

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Brown turkey in non stick pan (if not non stick add 1 tbsp oil). To help make chili more spicy you can add extra chili powder & cayenne pepper to the turkey as its cooking.
  2. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker and browned turkey.
  3. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
